Joseph, Director, Business Development
Joseph joined Home Instead in April of 2025. He comes with an extensive background in Care at Home (Home Health & Hospice). Having experienced the challenges of navigating healthcare systems with his own aging parents, Joseph is committed to helping others navigate and problem-solve the needs of clients & family needs.
He strongly believes that Home Care provides services to clients and families that boost quality of life while keeping our clients safe and at home. He believes in the right care, in the right place at the right time. This makes all the difference in helping our seniors thrive as they age – in addition to helping “ease the load” on family members. Educating our clients, families, and referral partners is of great importance. It helps all to understand how we can help them at the right time.
Joseph grew up in San Pedro, CA and has worked throughout Southern California in the Post Acute space for Seniors. He has a BS in Business Administration from Arizona State University. Through first-hand experience he knows the difference that Home Care makes in the lives of those in need of dependable care in the home.

Mary Claire Yanga Canavan, Client Care Advisor
Mary Claire joined Home Instead in August 2025, bringing over 10 years’ experience in customer service and client relations. She graduated from USC with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After graduating, she worked as a Client Advocate for a non-profit outpatient behavioral clinic. During her time there, she expanded her scope of duties to include spearheading arts and recreational activities for the program participants. Mary Clair, through work and life experiences, has come to believe that social engagement and fun activities that bring joy are equally as important as medical and psychological treatments in promoting a more holistic and healthier lifestyle.
Mary Claire’s personal experience caring for her grandparents and other elderly members in her community gave her a true soft spot for seniors. She has a passion for golden retrievers and has volunteered for a couple of non-profit organizations that rescue, rehabilitate and rehome these beautiful animals. In her spare time, Mary Claire loves training her own golden retriever, Mr. Buttons, as well as spending time with family and friends, and dabbling in art projects.
