Shea Van Gelder – Recruiting and Engagement Coordinator
Shea was born and raised in the Twin Cities, MN. She came to Georgia to earn her Bachelor’s of Psychology and Minor in Theatre at the University of Georgia and has remained in the Peach State ever since. Shea began recruiting fresh out of college in 2017 and discovered she loved working in a position that could perfectly mix meeting new people and delivering good news daily. She began with Home Instead in January 2025 and found that recruiting can be twice as rewarding as she once thought, finding meaningful jobs for top tier caregivers and changing the lives of seniors in the community! Shea hopes to continue to grow with Home Instead for many years to come. Out of office, she spends every possible moment with her fiancé and toddler son. The three love cooking, bowling, spending time outside together, and weekend movie marathons.

Emilie Smith - CCC
Emilie began her healthcare journey as a Patient Care Technician on a post-surgical orthopedic unit, where she built a strong foundation in hands-on patient care and support. Driven by a desire to deliver compassionate, personalized care, she joined Home Instead in late 2024, initially serving as a caregiver before transitioning into an administrative role.
In her current position, Emilie plays a key role in supporting daily operations and ensuring seamless communication between clients, caregivers, and staff. Her clinical background and genuine empathy allow her to provide both practical solutions and heartfelt service.
Outside of her work at Home Instead, Emilie is pursuing a certification in esthetics, combining her passion for wellness with her commitment to helping others feel confident and cared for. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, hiking, running, and horseback riding.

Amy Madden - RN
Amy brings a wealth of experience and heartfelt compassion to her role at Home Instead, joining the team in the spring of 2025. A graduate of West Georgia College with a degree in Nursing, Amy is celebrating her 30th year as a Registered Nurse—a milestone that reflects her lifelong dedication to patient care.
For the past 18 years, Amy has specialized in home health care, where she has provided skilled, empathetic support to individuals and families navigating complex health needs. Her deep understanding of both clinical practice and the emotional needs of aging clients makes her a valuable asset to the Home Instead team.
Amy is passionate about creating a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for seniors to age in place. Her commitment to quality care, combined with her warm and personable approach, helps build trust and peace of mind for the clients and families she serves.

Gabbie Johnson – Lead RN
Gabbie joined the Home Instead team in August 2024, bringing with her a strong clinical background and a passion for compassionate care. She began her nursing career on a medical-surgical floor and has spent the majority of her time in surgical care, specializing in pre-op and post-anesthesia recovery.
As a Registered Nurse with Home Instead, Gabbie enjoys the opportunity to combine her clinical expertise with client-centered care—whether she’s conducting in-home nurse visits or leading PCA trainings in the office.
Outside of work, Gabbie is married to her high school sweetheart and is a proud mom to two energetic young boys, ages 3 and 5. Their days are filled with trips to the park, little league games, fort-building, and the occasional toddler squabble. The family also includes a spirited 12-year-old cockapoo who keeps everyone on their toes.
In her rare downtime, Gabbie enjoys traveling, reading fiction, discovering new restaurants—and of course, trying out the best local ice cream spots. She’s grateful that Home Instead allows her to continue growing as a nurse while maintaining the flexibility to be present with her family.
