Jim Lonon, Owner
In February 2005, Jim Lonon turned a vision into reality with the opening of Home Instead Senior Care of Union, Anson Stanly & Lancaster Counties. A U.S. Army veteran who served in medical service during the Vietnam War, Jim later built a successful career at Eastman Kodak before dedicating himself to improving senior care in the community. Under his leadership, Home Instead has served approximately 2,000 clients and provided meaningful employment to over 2,500 caregivers and office staff. Jim is an active member of Weddington Methodist Church and enjoys spending quality time with his family, especially his three beloved granddaughters.

Trenna Lonon, Owner BSN, RN
Trenna Lonon graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1985. She dedicated 20 years to geriatric nursing, working as an RN in various long-term care facilities. In 2005, recognizing the need for seniors to have options so they may age at home, Trenna and her husband Jim, co-founded Home Instead of Union, Stanly, & Anson Counties. For nearly two decades, they have been committed to providing personalized care solutions that enable seniors to age in place with dignity and independence.

Chris Lonon, Owner
Chris Lonon has been at Home Instead since 2005 and became a co-owner in 2018. Based in Charlotte with his wife, Megan, Chris holds a law degree from NCCU and brings over 10 years of experience managing business offices for medical practices prior to joining Home Instead. His blend of legal expertise and business management allows him to lead with both compassion and efficiency, ensuring that seniors and their families receive the highest level of care and support.

Kesha Hickson, Director of Operations
Kesha Hickson began her journey with Home Instead as a Staffing Coordinator and now proudly serves as the Director of Operations. Passionate about helping individuals remain in their homes, she finds fulfillment in personalizing care. Inspired by her diverse and dedicated team, Kesha values collaboration and support in overcoming daily challenges. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Clint, and their three children, along with their pets. Her personal motto: "When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."

Shana Smith, RN Director of Nursing
Shana is our Director of Client Services, overseeing Quality Assurance visits for our Medicaid, CAP, Long-Term Care, and Private Pay clients. A dedicated RN she has been serving Monroe’s geriatric community for over 15 years. A lifelong Monroe resident, Shana shares her home with her husband, two children, and a lively assortment of pets, including two dogs, three cats, two chinchillas, a hamster, and seven chickens!

Sherry Territo, Administrative Director
Sherry expertly manages payroll, VA, Private Pay and Long-Term Care billing, and invoicing, ensuring smooth and accurate operations—she’s our resident spreadsheet wizard! A Marshville native, Sherry spent 32 years in Texas before returning home in 2014 to be closer to family and the community she loves. She brought her warm heart and meticulous skills back with her and now resides in Marshville with her husband and their two cats, who keep her life full of love and energy.

Tom Brodeur, Sales Manager
Thomas Brodeur is a Client Care Coordinator at Home Instead, where he is passionate aboutadvocating for those in need and providing essential information and services to enhance their quality of life. He values the company's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, believing it sets Home Instead apart from other providers. With a background rooted in respect for the elderly, Thomas aims to offer compassionate care, inspired by the teachings of Jesus. In his personal life, he enjoys 80s pop, rock, and country music and dreams of traveling to Brazil for it's warm culture and social interactions. He believes in the importance of kindness and understanding and advises new team members to let their hearts guide them.

Emily Tyson, LPN, VA Client Care Coordinator
Emily Tyson has been a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) since 1999 and is currently pursuing further education to become a Registered Nurse (RN)! She has been with Home Instead since November 2019 and serves as both a Client Care Coordinator and the key role of VA Coordinator. Emily has a deep dedication to veterans and takes great pride in supporting them. She values the strong sense of teamwork at Home Instead, where colleagues and owners collaborate closely, creating a family-like environment. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her beloved dogs. If she could have a superpower, she would choose the ability to teleport, allowing her to be in many places at once.

Monice Allen, Scheduling Coordinator
Monica has been with Home Instead since April 2022, transitioning to the office in November 2023 as a Scheduling Coordinator. With a background as a CArePro, she excels in building strong relationships with clients and CarePros, ensuring their needs are met with compassion. Monica finds fulfillment in her role by ensuring that everyone is happy with the services they are provided. She believes that everyone deserves to feel valued and respected. Outside of work, Monica enjoys rollerblading and listens to country and pop music. She feels that being a mother and wife brings her the greatest joy. Inspired by her mother’s strength and compassion, Monica is dedicated to providing exceptional care and looks forward to growing within Home Instead.

Karla Hinson, Staffing Coordinator
Karla Hinson is a compassionate Staffing Coordinator at Home Instead, with many years of hands-on experience as a CarePro. During her CarePro career, Karla developed a deep bond with her clients, considering them a second family. This experience has shaped her belief that clients should always be treated with the same care and respect as family member, a value she now applies when matching CarePros to clients’ unique needs. Outside of her professional life, Karla enjoys daily walks and is a fan of the movie The Goonies. She is inspired by her family, embracing all their wonderful craziness, and hopes to one day return to Switzerland to take in its stunning scenery and visit Rome for its rich history.

Marsha Sims, Recruiting & Hiring Coordinator
Marsha Sims serves as the Recruiting and Hiring Coordinator for Home Instead, where she has been a valued team member since 2012. Originally from New Orleans, Marsha relocated to North Carolina following Hurricane Katrina and brought with her a deep sense of resilience and dedication. With over a decade of experience at Home Instead, she is passionate about identifying and supporting talented CarePros who provide exceptional service to seniors in our community. Marsha’s expertise and commitment make her an integral part of the Home Instead team.

Kristin Keziah, Front Office
Kristin joined our team in 2019, bringing over eight years of administrative assistant experience. She thrives on learning and growing every day - even as we keep adding to her plate! Kristin lives with her husband and three wonderful children, sharing her love for animals with a lively household that includes two chickens, two dogs, and a cat. A fan of both the beach and the mountains, she’s always up for a getaway in either direction. In her free time, Kristin enjoys reading and taking long walks to recharge.

Jamie Sylvester, Client Care Liaison
A CNA since 1996, Jamie serves as the CarePro Training Specialist at Home Instead. With decades of caregiving experience, Jamie is passionate about guiding CarePros, emphasizing the values of patience, reliability, consideration, compassion, and positivity while ensuring that every client is treated with dignity. Outside of work, Jamie cherishes time spent with her family, especially her twin grandsons and granddaughter. She loves traveling and camping, often sharing these adventures with her loved ones. For Jamie, family and caregiving go hand in hand, and her dedication to both makes her an invaluable part of the Home Instead team.

Ann Craig, Admin. Assistant
As part of the Home Instead team, Ann served as a Receptionist and later transitioned into a key administrative role within the organization. She has also held positions as Office Manager at Dr.Tom Kleitches' practice, where she gained valuable experience in managing daily operations. Additionally, Ann worked as a Broker and Realtor specializing in both commercial and residentia lproperties at SELF and as part of the million dollar sales club, further expanding her expertise in client relations and business management. With her broad skill set and dedication to service, Ann is an invaluable member of the Home Instead team.

Hazel, Director of Snuggles & Soc. Media
Hazel, the beloved Office Cat at Home Instead, serves as the Director of Snuggles and Social
Media. Known for her playful antics and heartwarming charm, Hazel keeps the team entertained
and brings a touch of joy to the office every day. Her adventures are featured regularly on
Facebook and Instagram, where she has become a furry ambassador for spreading smiles and
positivity. Whether she's curled up for a cozy nap or making her rounds to check on the staff,
Hazel is an indispensable part of the Home Instead family.
