At Home Instead of Ocean Township, we love sharing local events that support the senior community. One event coming up this spring is the WISE Program, Wellness Initiative for Senior Education, a free six-part series for adults 60 and older.
The series will be at Monmouth County Library Ocean Township Branch, 701 Deal Road, Ocean, NJ 07712, throughout 6 Fridays (May 16, 23, and 30, and June 6, 20, and 27). Sessions will run from 1:30 - 3:30pm.
Here’s what participants can look forward to:
- Learn about the aging process and how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
- Celebrate this exciting stage of life and all the benefits that come with it.
- Discuss risk factors and behaviors you should avoid to stay healthy.
- Examine how alcohol, prescription medications, and over-the-counter medications affect seniors differently and how you can avoid problems.
- Learn how to use simple tools to help you feel more empowered about your health and the healthcare you receive.
- Light refreshments and giveaways for program participants!
