She was brought into the Office in 2005 as our Recruitment & Retention Coordinator and has been the General Manager for Home Instead since 2006. Originally from Ohio she remembers being 12 yrs old and helping her elderly neighbors. She shared how she provided companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep and assisted with bathing & dressing, so it is no surprise that this is the path that God had planned for her. Marti Smart, Client Care Coordinator
From the time she was a young girl, Marti knew that she wanted to be a nurse and take care of people who needed help. She entered Nursing school right out of High School. As life happens, her plans took a different direction for a while. She got married, moved to Michigan and gave birth to their son, their only child. To this day, Marti believes that those changes were in God’s plan.
Twelve years later, Marti went back to school and completed her nursing training in Michigan. She worked in many areas of nursing; hospitals, clinics, assisted living facility, home care and even a prison during these last 47 years. In each of those areas she enjoyed her job and found it very rewarding.
Now as she is nearing the end of her working career, she feels privileged and blessed to be working for Home Instead as a Client Care Coordinator. This year marks her 14th year, and Marti says “it has been my pleasure and honor to work with such caring and compassionate people as we strive to provide the best care possible for our precious clients.”
